1989 Moebius Sinjuku - Warrior of the Plains Graphitti Designs T-shirt XL White (Vtg)

Vintage, ultra stylish and extremely rare official licensed Moebius Sinjuku - Warrior of the Plains comic art t-shirt, released in 1989 by Graphitti (Designs). The exquisite sci-fi themed artwork by Jean (Moebius) Giraud on this shirt previously only appeared in black and white, in a line drawing format in the seminal art book 'Starwatcher' published in 1986.

The warrior riding the beast through the plains with his vulture bird is reminiscent of a young Lord Yuppa from Hayao Miyazaki's epic animation Nausicaa - which had a deep impact on Moebius, resulting in not only a joint exhibition in 2004 but also in Moebius naming his youngest daughter after the Heroine: Nausicaa.
 
The parallels, links and influences between these two masters of fantasy are clear in this beautiful piece.

The colours used to colour in the artwork are very vibrant and definitely make the art jump from the t-shirt!!

These hardly ever surface in worn condition, so to offer one and for you to find one (never worn) still factory sealed in it's original plastic bag is far out CRAZY!!

This t-shirt was recently acquired by me, and was part of a stunning deadstock collection of many rare/ultra rare mid- to late 90's and early 2000's comics, music, tv/movie and tcg themed shirts.

Please note that when a vintage clothing item is listed as factory sealed, it also counts as sealed when the item is untouched/still originally folded in it's original bag/plastic even though the bag/plastic isn't sealed.
